At Birdsong Wellness Center in Port Charlotte, Florida, we offer paid provisional LMHC supervision opportunities for recent graduates seeking to fulfill the Florida licensure requirements for Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs). Under the guidance of our experienced supervisors, you will gain practical, hands-on experience while contributing to our mission of providing compassionate mental health services to the community.
What is Provisional Supervision?
In Florida, a provisional license is granted to individuals who have completed their Master's degree in mental health counseling but have not yet met the full licensure requirements. To qualify for full licensure, provisional licensees must complete:
At least 100 hours of supervision over a minimum of 100 weeks.
A minimum of 1,500 hours of face-to-face psychotherapy with clients.
Supervision sessions at least once every two weeks.
Supervision must be conducted by a qualified supervisor, which includes licensed mental health professionals such as LMHCs, LCSWs, or LMFTs. Florida Clinical Social Work Board

Work as a paid therapist providing direct clinical services to clients under supervision.
